Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza was born in 1999 when Anthony Russo — a second-generation Italian-American from New Jersey — decided the world needed a real pizza. Not a fast-food imitation. Not a chain formula. A genuine, hand-crafted, coal-fired masterpiece made with love, technique, and premium ingredients.

Starting with a single 900°F coal-burning oven imported from Naples, Italy, Anthony developed his signature dough — a slow-fermented, hand-stretched recipe that remains unchanged to this day. The result is a crust that is perfectly charred on the outside, airy and chewy within, with a depth of flavor that no conventional oven can replicate.

A second-generation Italian-American with 30 years of pizza-making experience, Anthony's vision and technique are the heartbeat of every pie we make.
Maria is the organizational force behind the restaurant. She ensures every guest experience is seamless, warm, and memorable from the moment you walk in.
Trained in Naples and Brooklyn, Marco brings classical Italian culinary training to our kitchen. He oversees all menu development and ingredient sourcing.
Sofia trains and leads our front-of-house team, ensuring every table feels the genuine warmth and hospitality that Anthony's has been known for since day one.

Anthony Russo opens the doors of Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza on Promenade Blvd with a single imported Neapolitan oven and a dream to bring authentic pizza to New Jersey.
Named "Best Pizza in Bergen County" by NJ Monthly Magazine. The honor brought new guests from across the state and cemented our reputation for uncompromising quality.
Growing demand led us to expand the kitchen and add a second coal-fired oven. We also launched our signature catering service, bringing Anthony's flavors to weddings and corporate events.
Anthony's son Michael joins the team as sous chef after completing culinary training in Florence, Italy. The next generation brings fresh ideas while preserving founding traditions.
A complete dining room redesign doubles seating capacity and creates the warm, rustic ambiance our guests enjoy today. Private event space opens for parties of up to 50 guests.
We launched online ordering and contactless delivery, ensuring our community could enjoy Anthony's pizza safely during challenging times. Our loyal guests showed incredible support.
